Lobster Landing (CT)

Enea Bacci with Stavros from NETJ

Have you ever had the craving for a hot-buttered lobster roll in the winter? Great, because now we know that it’s not just us. We have made it our tradition to take a drive down to the coast after Christmas to enjoy our last lobster roll of the year. Lucky for us, Lobster Landing is open until just before New Year serving the same mouth-watering and delicious Connecticut style lobster rolls that they do all summer long.

Lobster Landing is a quintessential New England Seafood shack located on Connecticut’s coastline. Nestled just at the end of Commerce Street and across the water from Cedar Island, Lobster landing is only a 4-minute drive off of exit 63 on i-95. We happily drive over an hour from where we live down to Clinton for what we consider to be one of our all-time favorite rolls.

Lobster Landing – Clinton (CT)

This year when we arrived we saw Enea Bacci, the owner of Lobster Landing, heading to his truck as we parked and got out of ours. I quickly walked up to him to introduce myself and to tell him how much we love his restaurant and the lobster rolls. I also mentioned how we visit a few times a summer but especially before the end of the year.

He greeted us with a big smile and a lot of kind words and even told us about his childhood in Italy and about his move to the US. When I asked if I could have a picture with him he gleefully accepted and suggested we move to pose in front of the seafood shack. After the picture and a few more stories were exchanged he wished us well, thanked us for coming, and gave me a hug before he left. Yes, you read that right, he gave me a hug and said that he’ll see us again next summer.  Enea is so kind and thankful towards all of his customers, he’s even willing to take time to have genuine conversations with them.

Lobster Landing is now officially closed for the season as of December 31st, but we are excited to visit when they open again in April. Until then, we’re happy with looking back at the photographs we took and drooling uncontrollably.
