JT’s Seafood Restaurant (MA)
Article by Contributor Bernadette Dostaler
Cape Cod and seafood are synonymous. On our first trip to the Cape this year, at the start of the summer season, we headed directly to JT’s Seafood Restaurant in Brewster, Massachusetts. The weather was somewhat gray and damp, so we began lunch with an excellent, creamy clam chowder brimming with clams and potatoes. Our entrée, the Fried Native Clam Strip Platter, with fries, featured light, fluffy clams and tasty crisp french fries.
JT’s offers diners a choice of seafood rolls, sandwiches, and steamers, as well as, fried, baked, and grilled seafood dinners. Lobster Rolls are a big draw (although expensive at $21.99), served with hot drawn butter, or mayo and celery. Other popular seafood menu items include Lobster Dinners and a Classic Shore Dinner with lobster, native steamed clams, corn-on-the-cob, and a buttermilk biscuit. For those who are not seafood fans hamburgers, chicken, hot dogs, and veggie burgers are available.
JT’s also boasts a walk-up ice cream counter separate from the food ordering area.
The restaurant is casual with indoor seating and outdoor picnic tables under bright yellow umbrellas. Bike rakes are available for patrons riding up from the nearby Cape Cod Bike Trail. The Rt. 6A location is conveniently located across from the Ocean Edge Resort’s main entrance.
As for us, the weather was sunny by the time we finished our lunch. We headed to the Cape Cod Rail Trail for a bike ride from Brewster to Orleans. Along the trail, we nodded a friendly hello to three groups of riders who we had recently seen lunching at JT’s Seafood Restaurant.
