Hay Creek Hotels Season Wrap Up
From the shores of Rhode Island, all the way to an island in Maine, we partnered with Hay Creek Hotels this past season to visit some of their boutique hotels in and around New England. We made six trips on our tour, one of which even allowed us venture just over the border into New York.
To explore all six of our stays, follow the links below. To book a future stay at any of the HCH we visited or any of the many hotels in their portfolio use Promo Code NETJHCH20 for 20% off the best available rates.
Shelter Harbor Inn and Spa
Rhode Islands Shelter Harbor was the coziest hotel that we visited as part of our Travel Series partnership with Hay Creek Hotels. There were plenty of quiet corners and seating places to tuck ourselves into and enjoy the warmth of the fireplaces as we escaped the chilly and rainy weather of the weekend. The room decor was also the most creative and interesting to see, especially the rooms in the Carriage House that were decorated in the equestrian style. We also enjoyed its proximity to Watch Hill, a favorite destination of ours. The full article can be found here!
Breakwater Inn and Spa (ME)
The Breakwater Inn and Spa is really well located in Kennebunkport which offers the most to-do from all of our six trips. The Inn is only a few minutes walking distance from Colony beach and also only a short 5-minute drive to downtown. Kennebunkport is one of our most visited towns in Maine and also happens to be home to our favorite lobster roll of all time (at Mabel’s Lobster Claw). The full article can be found here!
Wolfeboro Inn (NH)
Wolfeboro quickly became one of our favorite new towns that we discovered this past summer. The New Hampshire town is located perfectly on Lake Winnipesaukee without being too busy like the larger tourist towns in the area. Wolfeboro is also well positioned and very close to a lot of great adventures in the surrounding mountains. The full article can be found here!
Chebeague Island Inn (ME)
Chebeague Island Inn was the perfect escape on one of Maine’s breathtaking islands. This was one of the most unique trips we went on as part of our travel partnership with HCH and although not the easiest to get to it definitely stands out in our mind because of our great experience. The Exeter Inn (NH)
We had one of our favorite breakfasts at the Epoch Gastropub and were lucky enough to enjoy the perfect pairing between the beautiful weather and the restaurant’s patio that allowed us to enjoy our breakfast outside next to the gardens. The blueberry cream-cheese stuffed French toast and bagel with lox was a breakfast we’ll remember for a long time. We also loved the privacy and the backyard and garden and how it created an escape from the surrounding town. The Inn seems like a private oasis just a few minutes’ walk from downtown. The Abbey Inn and Spa (NY)
The Abbey Inn and Spa is the premier luxurious retreat in the Westchester area. The beautiful and dramatic architecture of the hotel made us feel like we were staying in a castle, all the while the views of the Hudson River instantly take our breath away. We had our favorite meal at Apropos Restaurant that we enjoyed on the patio surrounded by the meticulously manicured garden beds. We also really enjoyed all the outdoor seating areas and the short walk to the hiking trail through Fort Hill. The full article can be found here!
